Amanda Holden appeared on a radio show and revealed the unusual reason why her husband, Chris Hughes, would file for divorce.
On the Breakfast Show on Heart Radio, the 53-year-old presenter mentioned that she made a very generous donation to the Battersea Dogs and Cats shelter, where Amanda is an ambassador.
“Yesterday, I was at Battersea Dogs and Cats, and I’ve been their ambassador for years. Unfortunately, my friend Jamie, who works there, told me they currently have 500 cats on the waiting list to be taken in due to a lot of abandonments,” she said.
“So, I felt like [I should make] a big donation to anyone taking care of animals who are struggling or suffering at the moment. I don’t want to sound like an angel, but this really touched me,” Amanda added.
“I think it’s the cost of living, people are just taking on more than they can handle. I’d probably have all of them in my backyard, and then my husband would leave me,” joked the presenter, who has been married to the producer since 2008.
